The 44th Queen Sirikit Cup at Clearwater Golf Club, Christchurch was recently held with many of the players and organisers staying at Wyndham Garden Christchurch.
Leading female amateurs from around the world competed in a team event representing 12 countries. The Kiwi side were looking to recreate their 1999 success, where New Zealand won in front of their home fans at Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club. New Zealand have three titles on their resume, winning in 1984 in Australia and 1990 in Hong Kong, China.
In attendance at the opening ceremony was (left to right) Dave Mangan and Karen Smith from Golf New Zealand, Aiden Berry, General Manager of Clearwater Golf Club, Victoria Henstock from the Christchurch City Council and our Hotel Manager of Wyndham Garden Christchurch, Chris Foubister. Congratulations to team Korea who won the event capturing their 23rd event!
